Fellows Feature Questions:
  1. Why did you apply for fellowship?
To (hopefully) have the accomplishments of my studio be recognized as worthwhile contributions to the industry and society.

  2. Where were you when you got the news you received it?
Walking into my lecture on “Ego and Arrogance” at Modernism Week 2022, Palm Springs.

  3. How did you celebrate?
A great dinner and drinks with my partner, and coincidentally and randomly with attendees of said lecture above. Then back to the hotel room emailing all those that supported my FAIA endeavor: colleagues, clients, mentor, sponsor, advisors, etc.

  4. What’s your one piece of advice for those applying, or thinking of applying?
Hone in why you matter to society and the profession.

  5. What’s is your most favorite project you have worked on within your career?
Like asking a parent to pick a favorite child? Within the portfolio, I favor a few of our schools, a Buddhist temple, attainable housing, and a memorial.

  6. Who has inspired you most within your career?
Thelonious Monk: I don’t know him, but his improvisational and personal approach to his art is inspiring.
