Fellows Feature Questions:
  1. Why did you apply for fellowship?
I felt compelled to apply as I was invited to do so by my local AIA Chapter.

  2. Where were you when you got the news you received it?
I was actually working from home when I received the news that I had been elevated.  I was home alone, so I did not have anyone to share the news with in person.

  3. How did you celebrate?
That evening I shared the new with my husband and we celebrated with a bottle of champagne!

  4. What’s your one piece of advice for those applying, or thinking of applying?
If you are applying, start early and keep a consistent schedule so that you are not pressed at the deadline. If you are thinking of applying, make sure to maintain a record of all of your accomplishments (i.e. articles, speaking engagements, records of key projects, awards, etc.).

  5. What’s is your most favorite project you have worked on within your career?
I have many projects that I enjoyed working on in my career, however, I must say that the LAUSD Charles Kim Elementary school was one of my favorites- one of the first demonstration projects for the Collaborative for High Performance Schools which became a beloved neighborhood resource for an underserved community in Los Angeles.

  6. Who has inspired you most within your career?
Though I have been inspired by many people, I would have to say that Peter Devereaux, FAIA and CEO of HED, has been the greatest inspiration throughout my career. He has been a tremendous role model, a generous mentor and an inspiring human being.
