COVID-19|

Many thanks to those who participated in the survey AIA California conducted between April 1-6, 2020. AIA CA attempted  to gather information on how this COVID -19 pandemic is specifically impacting architects and design professionals across California. 155 of you responded representing twenty local AIA chapters throughout the state. Respondents provided information about their challenges to remote work life, the challenge of keeping morale high when the office is completely virtual, and concerns about keeping businesses afloat. But perhaps the most powerful message received was one of positivity and hope—hope that the profession learns from this unusual time and how to adapt and make changes for the better. Ironically, many are feeling even more connected than ever to their local chapters, despite the social distancing, and lack of in-person communication. This, we believe, sums up the architectural profession: how hopeful and connected we can be despite the extreme challenge of distance. Local, state, and national intend to keep that connection strong and thriving long after the pandemic is over. View the results of the survey here.
