January 3, 2023| EDI Webinar| AIA California
Date/Time: Thursday, January 5th | 12:00 – 1:00 pm PST
Description:
The creation of space is fundamental to the practice of architecture. Space is physical yet it is a social construct. As Edward Soja writes, “space is socially produced and can therefore be socially changed”. In this webinar we will explore the concept of Spatial Justice – What does it mean? The spaces we inhabit can have negative as well as positive consequences on practically everything we do. Confronting social and economic inequality in our cities is a role for architects and architecture. Through new structures, strategies and expanded models of practice architects can be an essential part of that process.
