The governor also signed SB 972 into law. This bill was carried in response to the recent Crawford and UDC court rulings on the duty to defend and indemnification, and is intended to protect design professionals from the most harmful effects of those rulings. David Barker, with the law firm Collins, Collins, Muir and Stewart, is preparing an article on what SB 972 does and what it means to design professionals.
