Unlock Alameda Creek recognizes the connections between constructed urban environments and ecological systems and proposes that sea level
rise adaptation in the Bay Area must happen upstream as well as at the water’s edge. The project reconnects the creek with the baylands to feed
downstream marshes and mudflats with sediment and sustain protective tidal ecosystems as the climate changes.
