AIACC Senior Director Promoted to Chief Operating Officer
SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Nov. 17, 2015. The American Institute of Architects, California Council (AIACC), announced this month the promotion of Nicki Dennis Stephens, Hon. AIACC, LEED Green Assoc., to the position of Chief Operating Officer.
In her new position, Dennis Stephens will have elevated responsibilities regarding program development, implementation, and operations. She will also have increased engagement in developing the Annual Operating Plan and Budget, and liaison responsibilities with allied individuals and organizations.
In January 2016, Dennis Stephens will begin her 17th year with the AIACC. Her success as Associate Director for Resource Development eventually led her to AIACC Senior Director, and now subsequently, COO. She has shown strong leadership abilities; a collaborative spirit of engagement, and tireless dedication to the architectural profession.
For ten months in 2010/2011, Nicki served as AIACC’s Interim EVP/CEO during the CEO leadership transition at National AIA. She is the Secretary/Treasurer of The Center for Innovation in the Design and Construction Industry (CIDCI), and was recently elected to the National Council of Architectural Component Executives (CACE) Board of Directors. Nicki is widely known and well respected for her commitment to excellence, and she is a greatly valued resource to the membership, the volunteer leadership, and the California Chapters of the AIA.
