Greetings from the AIA California Office,

We recognize the design and delivery of architecture truly takes a team effort. Each member plays a vital role in shaping the built environment and delivering successful projects that meet the needs of clients and communities.

In a similar way, support for your professional endeavors takes a team.  AIA California is on your team. Previously, I’ve mentioned some of the aspects we handle to create an environment leading to success for members and practices. We are a voice on issues impacting the built environment in the legislative and regulatory arenas, provide professional development opportunities, curate practice resources from across the industry, and make connections to other organizations within the design and construction community to maximize your time and money.  

One of these we’re proud to announce is the recent partnership with USGBC to provide dual continuing education credit for ZNCD coursework, making it easier for you to meet your CE requirements.

Are you a member taking free ZNCD CE courses through AIA California? Select courses will now count for GBCI continuing education units, reducing the amount of time spent on continuing education, but ensuring its caliber. Just attend the GBCI-approved courses through AIA California, use the USGBC’s easy self-reporting system, and one course will count for both CE requirements.

Don’t forget – ZNCD CE (required for California licensure renewal in 2025) is always free for AIA members – and you can “bank” those hours now for next year’s renewal.
