Change is Good, What’s New at MDC

Something New; MDC Just Got Better

Change. Is. Good.

That’s the philosophy behind a new component at MDC this year. We asked Conference Co-Chairs, Bill Leddy, FAIA, and Doris Sung, AIA: Why?

Bill Leddy, FAIA: Expanding the significance and contributions of a legacy conference is a challenge but even given Monterey Design Conference’s reputation for delivering inspiring design discussions in one of the most beautiful settings on the planet – there’s always room for change, improvements.

Doris Sung, AIA: This year we have something new, and exciting. What used to be CE courses on Friday morning are now replaced by the Innovators. These speakers are rock stars in their field, out there, doing it.

Bill: They are bonus speakers, a value-add, to MDC’s extraordinary group of international and national Headliners.

They’re leading voices in the fields of regenerative materials and methods, advanced building and urban decarbonization, wildfire resilience, and the architecture of social justice.

Doris: These talks aren’t your grandmas LUs–after seeing them, you’ll see our world differently, and still get your CE credits.

So arrive Thursday evening or early Friday morning so that you won’t miss being inspired by the applied research, new technologies, and engaging conversation that starts Friday morning.
