BRITT LINDBERG, AIA: 2018 AIACC PRESIDENT

The American Institute of Architects, California Council, Announces Inaugurated President

Britt Lindberg, AIA

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—The American Institute of Architects, California Council (AIACC), welcomes Britt Lindberg, AIA, as the 2018 President. Lindberg succeeds 2017 President, Jana Itzen, AIA.

The task of leading the nation’s largest AIA component could be construed as overwhelming, but Lindberg, of San Jose, is excited to take on the task. She has served on the AIACC Executive Committee as Vice President of Communications and as President Elect. Lindberg joined the AIA in 2008 shortly after becoming a licensed architect. Currently, Lindberg is a Senior Associate with Gensler in San Jose.

Installed in November 2017 at Pivot Interiors in Santa Clara, Lindberg humbly accepted the role and laid out her vision in a “Top 10 List”, (which she plans to share in a post on the AIACC website soon). She explains a bit about what we can expect: but the overall focus is to strengthen architecture’s voice and influence in service to society. “Electing more architects to public office; forming more strategic partnerships with allied groups; working toward solutions to California’s housing challenges; boosting awareness and resources to meet upcoming net zero—to name just a few.”

Lindberg looks forward to communicating with members, clients and the public about the value architects can bring to nearly any table. “It is always so inspiring and energizing to work with talented and driven colleagues; making a difference for the architecture profession, and for the clients and communities which our projects serve.”

She looks forward to the year ahead, and progress on plans and initiatives will be communicated accordingly. Lindberg invites all to visit aiacc.org to see her monthly messages. In the meantime, visit the AIACC Instagram page January 6-20, to see her in action as Lindberg invites us into her design world with the #aiacctakeover.
