The local chapter is where AIA members roll up their sleeves, get personally involved, and make a difference in their profession and their communities. Local chapter members participate in chapter events and activities, volunteer on committees, and make policy decisions for the chapter. Most chapters have full or part time staff to carry out these activities. Involvement at this level allows members to reap the many rewards of membership. Local AIA chapters offer many services to members and the community. Benefits vary somewhat from chapter to chapter so be sure to consult your local chapter for specific information.
