Smart Carbon Goals: Life Cycle Assessment in Design Practice

The work of Mithun, and other signatories, is demonstrating that carbon neutrality in building operations is achievable. Energy efficiency has become commonly understood and gained significant traction, BUT it only addresses a portion of buildings’ total carbon impact. Mithun is ramping up efforts to benchmark embodied carbon performance across our design portfolio using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This session will describe the critical role of embodied carbon in addressing climate change and highlight opportunities to apply LCA tools through replicable project workflows.
