Practice Management (PcM) focuses on the management of architectural practice, including professional ethics, fiduciary responsibilities, and the regulations governing the practice of architecture. From designing contemporary net-zero-ready homes to humble residential additions; from completing a Master’s thesis to A.R.E. exams, Ben has picked up a lot over the last five years and is excited to be able to share it with others. Ben teaches architecture as well, and he always stresses to his students that he is just like they are…only a few years into the future.

Speaker: Sabas Padilla, Assoc. AIA About Our Speaker: Sabas is an Associate AIA member at the California Central Valley Chapter in Sacramento. He works as a designer for Ware Malcomb and specializes in preliminary site plans for programming and analysis. He has been involved in over 500 unique projects across various industries, including industrial, cold storage, multi-family residential, laboratories, and film studios. He is on-track to becoming a licensed architect by 2024 and has recently completed the Practice Management, and Programming & Analysis exams.

Speaker: Bryn Young, AIA About Our Speaker: Bryn specializes in projects of all scales, thinking of innovative designs and space planning to fit any need. She has a passion for design and is always looking to nature for inspiration. She received her Masters in Architecture from NewSchool of Architecture & Design and holds undergraduate degrees in Interior Design, Entrepreneurship, and Small Business Management. Bryn has won multiple awards, including her Master's Thesis "Drought Tolerant Architecture". Bryn is currently on the Board of Directors at the La Jolla Historical Society and an adjunct professor at Chico State. When she's not designing she loves to be outside hiking, camping, or exploring with her husband and two daughters.

These statewide ARE study sessions and virtual study groups will serve as a hub for education, connection, and community. This portal will not replace other study materials or resources, rather it supplements them, serving as a network and allowing for collaboration between EPs and AIA professionals across California.
