The new CALGreen embodied carbon measures, the first statewide mandated requirements on embodied carbon reporting for building projects in the nation, went into effect this year on July 1st.
AIA California understands updating our building codes is key in address decarbonization, which is why we led this effort and worked directly with state agencies, various stakeholders, and our partners to develop these measures and facilitated their integration into CALGreen.
These historic measures not only support California in meeting its carbon reduction goals, but they are also a critical step in decarbonizing the built environment.
