In the final installment of the Resilience and the Evolving Standard of Care series, an expert panel will begin with a review of projections for future climate conditions, followed by consideration of how these are shaping the evolving industry standard of care. Next will be a review of past U.S. case law regarding the standard of care and the implications of each case. This will be followed by an examination of California specific case law, discussion of how these cases have shaped liability for practitioners in the state, and examples of good contract language and protections to manage risk. The program will conclude with examples from an architectural firm on how its practice integrated resilience design, how to discuss climate risks with clients, and how to manages risk in contract language.
